Sarcomas can be responsive to treatment by medicinal
mushrooms, which build up the immune system. Examples are
Reishi, Shiitake, and Maitake. Shiitake mushrooms are
available fresh in a lot of grocery stores now, and can be eaten in
soup. The other types of mushroom can be found in
supplements. Cancer cells can also be injured by heat like
from a heating pad if they are close to the surface, if a protective
substance, Heat Shock Factor, is inhibited in the cancer cells
with Quercetin, available as a supplement and found in
soybeans and some herbs. (from Cancer and Natural
Medicine, John Boik, p.154).
