Description
SHARE Atlanta (SA) is for emotional "grief" support. We provide comfort and *hope* for healing after a pregnancy (ectopic, miscarriage, midterm loss, stillbirth) or newborn loss. We are "healed & healing" bereaved parents who are ready to help others. Outreach is often healing.
Since '97, our website has provided support with-grief, medical, & advocacy information; candlelighting & memorial garden; info. about garden with memorial bricks (& keepsake bricks); "Outreach for Healing" programs; and many letters & diaries about grieving & healing. Our mutual support group was started in Atlanta in 1984. What we have learned & accomplished is on our website. We offer support for grandparents, friends, & caregivers. We provide subsequent pregnancy support.
It takes courage to grieve and to share. The love and understanding from those who are our "listeners" is very important. We are NOT here to judge about religious thoughts; medical actions we made/make; decisions that were/are made;or thoughts in general. We are here to heal. We respect each person's need for feeling SAFE. Their thoughts will be taken in the spirit of healing.
I believe in "brainstorming." We share ideas, facts, & feelings to find out what is right for us. What *is* right for one person is not necessarily right for another. Getting it off ones' chest and getting it out in the open can be healing! There are many "aaha" moments.
Grieving and healing are about gradually finding new choices. Then, feeling comfortable about *who we are becoming*. Moving through the *grieving process* is hard work. It is *doable* with understanding and support.
SA is here as you need us. We hope to offer a "safe haven" for healing.
Marcia McGinnis, Co-founder & President of SA
