Not talking at school or in public and being very different at home is very
common with selective mutism but not the misbehaving so much. It may just be his
way of dealing with the stress. I would reccommend therapy as soon as possible.
We had really good luck with a local university with a Psych Dept. They have
sliding rates and are up to date on SM and treatments. The threats are
worrisome, you might want to try talking around him (not so much directly to
him) about the permanency and sadness of death and the consequences of killing,
you can use the nightly news as a good starting point. Good Luck
