-see if you have a psycho-educational school in your area
it is public funded and they at least try to help
they have not tried to medicate my daughter
but my daughter although slowly is doing better there
she will actually talk to the teacher now
and last week spoke to another student.
it is slow but she just started in december
before that she went to school for 3 months without saying a word
this may not be exactly perfect for you but it is worth looking into.
