Hi!, My daughter is 15 and has been in therapy for about 9 years, (hopefully
your daughter won't take so long). Her therapy usually consists of games to
get her to talk to her therapist, and then slowly getting her to open up to
others with rewards for different accomplishments. They might also recommend
Prosac or another SSI med.. Alot of kids have really good results with
them, although we haven't, so it's not a cure all. Some of her therapists
have also worked with my husband and myself on how to deal with different
situations and how to explain the situation to others. Don't be afraid to
take her in for counseling, the sooner the better, it really does help.
Good Luck!!
