Support Group for Parents of Children with Feeding Issues

Food and sharing meals are such an integral part of life it is hard to comprehend that for some eating can be so hard to do. The process of learning how to eat is more complicated than many people realize, and things that interfere with that process can cause difficult delays in one of the most essential skills for children.

Parenting a child with these kinds of needs can feel very isolating and frustrating. Most parents feel a natural urgent need to provide the most basic of necessities for their child: food. Having others to talk to who share a common experience about this can be quite comforting. Other parents at different levels of dealing with feeding issues have much experience and knowledge about these things and can be of immense help to other parents.

This on-line group is an additional place for our support group members to share their stories and discuss ideas. The group meets monthly in the Seattle area. It has been in existence since 2000 and is facilitated by members who volunteer their time.
