EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING/STUDY SKILLS GROUPS
The new CARE Clinic, under the direction of Julie Osterling, Ph.D., is now open.
The clinic will offer 3 different groups that target executive functioning and
study skills at the middle school, high school, or college level. Groups
include students who are in regular education classes and have Asperger
Syndrome, ADHD, and/or learning disabilities. The groups will target the more
mundane aspects of school success such as creating and maintaining a binder,
time management for school and fun, completing and tracking homework, producing
written work, and getting teachers to want to help. Skills will be targeted in
a setting that facilitates friendship, support, and fun. Groups will run with
school calendars and cost $40 per group. If interested, call the ASTAR Center

ASPERGER GROUP FOR 14-16 YEAR OLD GIRLS
Autism Spectrum Treatment and Research (ASTAR) Center is currently running an
Asperger's group for 14-16 year old girls. Group members include girls who have
strong academic and verbal skills but need extra support with establishing and
maintaining social relationships. This group is run as a process group with a
focus on building and working through interpersonal relationships, increasing
self-awareness, and some support around executive functioning skills. If

GOING TO COLLEGE WEBSITE FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
This new website has been developed to help high school students learn about
living college life with a disability. The site provides video clips,
activities, and resources that can help students get a head start in planning
for college. Video interviews with college students with disabilities offer a
way to hear firsthand from students with disabilities who have been successful.
Modules include activities that will help students explore more about
themselves, learn what to expect from college, and equip them with important
considerations and tasks to complete when planning for college.
