I just wanted to see if some of yall have pulmonary hypertention.
My mama goes monday to have a arteriergram done. That is to see how
much pressure she has in lungs I think. I am just worried about her.
She has had crest scleroderma for 26 years and has always been real
upbeat nomatter what came her way. I just noticed she has had a cough
and is now coughing stuff up. not much just a little. So I was trying
to see if some of yall might could give me some advice on it. Thanks

Hi. i am so sorry to hear about your Mom. My sister died of SD 10 years ago.
She had the pulmonary hypertension, I really don't remember to much she had so
much wrong. I do remember she had a hard time breathing and was on oxygen. A
week after she died my brother in law got the papers where they had excepted her
for a lung transplant. What sticks in my mind is how she lay in a coma in the
hospital in ICU for a week before she died. The Dr. told us the lung transplant
wouldn't have done her any good anyway. It is sad that this disease effects so
many people yet nobody knows about it unless it effects them in someway. I
remember the day they diagniosed her I cried like a baby i knew what she was up
against as I was a CNA and was in a nursing home with a patient who had had it
since she was16. I get the different types mixed up my sister had the one that
not only effected her skin and joints but her organs too. My sisters best friend
ask me about it after she was diagnoised
and I remember telling her if my sister lasted 5 years it would be a miracle.
She lasted 4 my sister was 47 years old when she died. If you do a search for
SD on line ti can probably answer alot of your question. Again I am sorry. I
will keep your Mom in my prayers. may God be with you

mama comes out with her test today. Mitzi
Hi Diane thanks for asking about mama.? She had her test done today and the dr.
said that her pressure wasnt as bad as he thought.? tomorrow we go to see lung
dr. and that will read the test to, so I hope they say the same thing.? Thanks
for all your prayers and thinking of us. Mitzi
Yes, my mother had developed chronic lung disease. She did not notice it
until around winter time. Make sure she is not out of in the cold for too
long at a time and stay completely away for smoke. Also, make sure she
doesn't have to do too much work or even exhaust herself too much because I
am sure you noticed that any damage done can be permanent.

Hello everybody it has been a while since I posted anything about
mama. She has had a rough go of it, but she is doing ok now.. she had
six rounds of chemo. and the dr. did another pet scan and the cancer in
her rib is gone. he said that the other spots that she has have shrunk
greatly . when he told her that he said I dont quite know what to
say. and mama told him to say praise the Lord. and that is what we all
did thank yall so much for all of your prayers still continue to pray
for her. Prayer and the Lord is what will get her and us through this.
He said that she has 1/3 of the cancer left and will start chemo up
again after christmas. so I say thanks again for all of your
prayers.Love MIt.........

i'm actually taking my mom to the oncologist today too - but we already
know that the cancer is gone - 5 years! so we are hoping the doc cuts
her free and takes her off the meds.
i'm so happy for you and your family - it's such a relief. SD is one
thing to have to worry about - but add anything else to it - sigh.
