thought you could all relate to this...about a 2
weeks ago now, on a sunday afternoon, i got a phone
call from my dad...may not sound weird to you...but
dad only calls when something is wrong!! last time he
called me was when i was at college, and they had taken
my mom to the hospital...So i knew something must be
wrong...he told me they had been involved in a car accident,
and mom was waiting for the ambulance to come...thats
all i needed to hear...the 20 minute ride to my
parents house took what seemed like an eternity...and
i'll never forget the scene we drove up on...my mom
and dad were turning into thier drive way when some
17 year old kid, adn friends plowed into the back
end of him...my dad hadn't seen any one in his mirror
for miles...and speed was estimated at 70 on a
country 2 lane road...All the way over in the car i was
thinking the worst...mom with SD...who knows what can be
broken, or enternally damaged...he doctor had been joking
right when he told her not to break anything....we got
there as they were loading mom into the ambulance...my
husband and i followed them to the hospital...my dad
staying home to deal with cops, and a horrible mess in
the driveway...plus my sister had been out shopping,
adn we didn't want her to drive up on that and go
then there was no one there...so we kept dad on top of
things by phone...As it turns out...nothing was
seriously wrong...the staff at the hospital were
wonderful...checked, and rechecked her because of the SD...x-rays,
catscans...everything came back ok...she was just really sore, and
still almost 2 weeks later has muscle aches...I just
thank God everyday that it wasn't serious, and will
never forget the feeling i had when i heard my dad on
the other end of the line...Thought you all could
relate to this...guess they are tougher than we think
sometimes...her doctor told her she was a very lucky lady!!!
thanks for letting me share this with you....
