I first posted to this group on 24 August, telling of my friend who
was struggling through a very difficult painful time with
scleroderma.

On 23 September my dear friend died, aged 40, after 24 years with
this cruel illness. I travelled interstate to his funeral. I miss
him terribly. My consolation is that he is not suffering any more.
The ache in my heart will stay. I don't even want to get over it.

Thanks to Michelle from this group for her beautiful caring emails of
support. Some beautiful people have been afflicted with this
illness. I just hope and pray that something can be done so that
adequate funding is available for research to unlock the mystery,
find the cause (or causes) and one day a cure, so that people will
not have to suffer in the way my friend did.

My love to all who are bravely struggling with scleroderma. You are
my heroes.
