I'm very pleased to have found this website, as I have a dear friend
who suffers from scleroderma. We live in different states (of
Australia). In good times we are in frequent email contact, but when
things are bad, I go through anguish thinking about his suffering. He
has recently had a very hard struggle with weeks of terrible pain,
ending up in hospital for treatment. Fortunately this was effective,
and he is home again, feeling much better.

There must be others in this group who know how I feel - how much I'd
love to be able to take some of his pain for him, how helpless I feel
when I know this person I love so much is suffering, how much I
admire him for his courage and cheerfulness.

I didn't know there was a support group for friends and families of
scleroderma sufferers - but I like the idea, and I think it's
something I have felt a need for.
