Amy-After my first fill I really didn't feel much restriction and for me I don't think I was really hungry but I was use to munching, especially in the evenings. Our nutrition person suggested I chew gum (sugerless of course), that really has helped me. I was suprised that you felt actual pain with your fill, I think it is a little uncomfortable but not too bad. I would go ahead and tell them when you get your fill if it hurts. The person who does mine is very supportive. I don't think there is a set amount you can eat because everyone is different.

Subject: [sch_lap_band_support] First Fill
Hello! I just had my first fill on Tuesday June 3rd. I am actually a
bit hungrier than I was before. Is this normal or should I call the
office and set up another appointment? Also did anyones first fill
hurt? I was ok at first but when i had to sit up and the doctor added
more saline it burned and was uncomfortable. Is that normal? Of course
i did not say anything to the doctor... How much should i expect to
eat now? Should i be able to eat an entire chicken breast? Or Half of
one? Or a quarter?
20 questions... I know!
