Re: Does a flipped port work?

Regarding if getting sick flips the port, or causes slippage.  I really don't think so.  I have had surgery on my throat Dec 2006, 6 months after my band surgery.  I was doing great, then after throat surgery I began having dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).  Food got stuck almost 80% of my meals and I got sick, vomited, for nearly a year before we just stopped and loosened the band.  My port never flipped, nor did my band slip during all of this.  But, I am not a Dr. and the only real way to know is when you get your fill with the Dr. do it under fluroscopy and he can see it all and if it is in the right place.  But my bet would be that you are fine.  Keep in mind too, mornings your bands seem tighter than any other time of day.  I always drink hot tea, it seems to help me with getting food in after drinking a warm/hot beverage.
Good luck to you both.  Beth
