Hi Darlene. For me, surgery was on a Wed (1/24), by
Sun I was feeling pretty good. A bit sore when getting
up and down, but not having to take any meds for it. I
just felt the need to "hang on" to the place where the
largest incision is. By that Mon, I was starting to
get a little energy back. At the one week mark, I was
really feeling pretty good - except for getting up and
down, and I got tired easily, but just would do
something and take a little rest. I sleep on my side.
The couple of nights were OK, but then I was taking
the Rx drugs. The last night I took any meds was that
first Fri. After that, I found that I did not rest as
well as I would have liked. I kept waking up with my
hip hurting, and would have to turn over to the other
side. An hour or so later, wake up and have to turn
over again. A couple of night I just gave up and went
to the recliner for the rest of the night, and did
fine. After about a week and a half, I found that I
was shifting enough in my sleep that I seldom woke,
and for the past several nights I have slept fine,
with no discomfort at all in turning over.
Bear in mind that everyone is different, but look for
things to start really improving for you at about the
one week mark.
Let us know how it goes. Glad to have you among the
banded!
