Hi Renee,
I don't have any suggestions for a doctor for you but I will tell you that this surgery is not easy. This is something that nobody wants to tell you. I had always wanted the surgery and this October I had to have it done because they found cancer in my stomach. I spent a month and a half in the hospital and I was in ICU after surgery. Now I am better but everyday is a struggle I can only eat one bite of food and I am full and some stuff doesn't even stay down, so get ready to toss your cookies. I went to the hospital at 230 lbs and now I am at 180 so in 2 months 50 lbs are gone! That is the bright side of my whole thing but it certainly wasn't easy. If you have any questions feel free to ask since I recently went through the surgery.
Take Care
Cynthia Flores

Hi everyone.
I am planning to have the surgery but I need a new primary care doctor who will work cooperatively with the Gastric bypass team. If they have a scale that is well suited for large people that would also be a plus. Since my insurance requires 6 mos of charting my weight before they will consider me .Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks
