Re: [sch_gastric_bypass_support] Ideas... please...

Kathleen,
When did you have your surgery and how are you doing?  I have another week on it and I am getting really sick of it.  But here is what I've been doing:

1)  Protein Bullets from GNC.  They have 42g of protein per bullet and come in fruit flavors.  You can drink them straight out of the plastic 'vial' but I like to add water and ice to thin then out a bit.  Some of them taste like watered-down jello.  My favorite is grape but orange and blue raspberry and fruit punch are also good.

2)  The various soups from SmartForme/Center For Metabolic Health.  At least the saltier taste breaks up the monotony of all the sweet shakes.  The cream of mushroom and cream of chicken are the best so far.

3)  Champion Nutrition shakes:  I mix the banana scream and chocolate or the strawberry and chocolate.

4)  DaVinci sugar-free syrups.  I haven't used them yet but other swear by them.  You can order them online or get them in the health-food section of some grocery stores.  They're yummy to doctor up the flavor and make a more interesting shake.

5)  The Weight N Inches shakes from Center for Metabolic Health.  They are very thick and yummy - better than any other shake I have ever tried, ever.  And they have 29g of protein per packet, so it's a good dose at on time.

Also check out www.bariatriceating.com - they have an excellent message board but also great recipes for all stages of WLS>  (I also read the book by the woman who owns this site - Before And After by Susan Maria Leach - and it is an indispensible tool for me.

Let me know if any of this helps!

Pam

Smart Forme also makes some that are fruit flavored, and they are very good.  I found that a  variety of them plus having a soup broth helped the monotony. ...
