Hello Jolene, Congrats on getting the date set! 

I had my surgery on Jan 29, 2008.  I took a nice loose fitting robe, believe it or not I used to always be hot and sweaty but after surgery and still, I am always freezing.  Bring some easy to put on clothes so its easy to dress when time to leave and any toiletries you like to have.  I did have a book to read but never really read it as I was still on pain meds and slept alot.  They will want you to walk that same day so the robe comes in handy for that as well, they gave me skid proof socks but if you would also like slippers, that would be good to have as well (make sure they are also skid proof).

I took my favorite pillow and a blanket for my husband that stayed in the room with me the entire stay.
