1.) SPINA BIFIDA COMMUNITY SURVEY

HAVE YOU TAKEN THE SURVEY YET?
Go to www.sbaa.org, scroll down to the "what's new"
section and click on SPINA BIFIDA COMMUNITY SURVEY
SBAA is conducting a national survey of adults and
families living with spina bifida and the caregivers
and health care providers who touch their lives. We
invite all members of the spina bifida community to
participate in this online survey

2.) THINK INSIDE THE BOX!…

Buy a chance to win a new 2004 Porsche Boxster® and
help support spina bifida research. Get your raffle
ticket at www.sbaa.org or call 1-800-939-5387.
Winning ticket will be drawn on October 8, 2003 at the
Annual Roast to benefit spina bifida.

3.) GOT A MINUTE? GETS THE GOLD

SBAA received the Gold World Wide Web Health Award for
its health care provider web initiative, Got a Minute?
The theme of the web initiative is that it only takes
a few seconds to help patients reduce their risk of
spina bifida by quickly mentioning folic acid during a
visit.

The World Wide Web Health Awards is organized by the
Health Information Resource Center, a national
clearinghouse for consumer health information programs
and materials. Last year, there were nearly 1,000
entries from hundreds of organizations.

The overall goal of Got a Minute? is to increase
provider awareness of the need to prescribe folic acid
for women at risk for spina bifida recurrence.
Encourage your health care professionals to visit Got
a Minute? at www.sbaa.org
