The Texas Association for Massage therapist has been working hard and the
Convention in August is going to be a great one. The dates are August 19th
and 20th. School is back in session the week before the convention.
We will have CE workshops on Critz Technique, Massage Therapy Business
Success, Empowering the health and well being of Clients, Conscious Breathing
techniques, Pharmacology and Massage along with Spa Treatment training;
featuring Michael Critz, Stacey Lemire, Jason Howell, Rosario Perez-Garza and Alex Matthews.
The banquet Saturday will prove to be enlightening and an enjoyable
event. We will have massage therapist speakers involved in the 2005 legislative
session from all sides of the argument to educate the membership and guests on the
differing agendas. Speaking will be Doug Barhorst, Lou Ellen McMillian and Alex
Matthews.
The TAMT has gone through a lot of changes since its conception over 10
years ago, but one thing has remained constant; it is an association of massage
therapists who are dedicated to protecting and bettering the profession while
offering ideas and opportunities for the therapist to succeed.
The mission statement of TAMT is to protect, maintain
and enhance the professional development, financial success, and quality of
life of all

The TAMT’s active membership is practicing massage therapists, some
with families, most want to maintain a successful practice. We volunteer our
time, not for the money but for the love of the profession. We want to give
back to the community what the profession has given to us.
Massage is one of the fastest growing healthcare fields in the
TAMT has continued to prosper through our volunteers for over 10
years. Yes we have had little hiccups along the way, but with every hurdle we have
gotten stronger and steadier in our direction.
We have a new president, Maria Solis who is steadfast in her conviction
to bettering the profession and level headed in representing the membership and
the massage community. Her organizational skills and experience will move TAMT
to a new level of success and professionalism
We would like to invite all to attend the convention
in August, volunteer in organizing and presenting the convention and let your
voice be heard about your ideas to protect, maintain and enhance the
professional development, financial success, and quality of life of all Texas
Registered Massage Therapists.
