WHAT IS PFRIMMER DEEP MUSCLE THERAPY® (PDMT)?
Over the past 50 years, Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy® has served as a most comprehensive form of corrective bodywork. Pfrimmer is unique in its ability to perform cellular detoxification, cellular regeneration and comprehensive intricate tissue release.
Pfrimmer’s total body approach to the study of corrective muscle therapy provides a basic and solid foundation upon which to build customized treatment plans for clientele covering the broadest range of conditions. (See the April 1998 issue of Massage Magazine) In our observation over the years it has been noted that the results of MFR, NMT, PRT, and chiropractic have been greatly enhanced by incorporating these excellent techniques into the total body Pfrimmer format. Comprehension, versatility, confidence and creativity for the student are enhanced when they understand the holistic, total body approach to the corrective bodywork concept (Also, see the book “Healing Your Child” by Dr. Barry Gillespie.)
The Pfrimmer program has been offered successfully as a post graduate course for doctors, PT’s, chiropractors, and eligible massage therapists for many years. It is definitely the serious student of massage who is drawn to the Pfrimmer work. So it is our hope that providing the Pfrimmer education program in more schools around the country and around the world will enhance both the individual professional and the health of the public receiving the benefit of this unique treatment. It has been our goal to make the education more readily accessible to the students and clients in their own locale.
Pfrimmer Therapy was developed by Thérèse C. Pfrimmer, a physiotherapist who reversed her own paralysis in the 1940’s. Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy (PDMT) is a highly refined system of corrective treatment designed to aid in the restoration of damaged muscles and soft tissue in the entire body. Using a specific series of cross-tissue movements applied to muscles, a fully trained PDM Therapist concentrates on all layers of muscle that have become depleted of their normal blood and lymphatic flow. It has been proven valuable in prevention as well as correction of many serious conditions. To name a few: ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Lupus, TMJ Syndrome, Strokes, Scoliosis, Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia.
