Position Overview
Involves focused adjunctive manual therapy by manipulation of injured
or damaged muscle and/or surrounding fascia and may address other
systems in the body such as lymphatic, circulatory and nervous
system. Intent is to increase active pain-free range of motion,
increase extensibility of injured skin, myofascial tissue and
facilitate the return to functional activities, relieve pain and
improve patient ability to perform therapeutic exercise (with
PT/OTs). This work differs from relaxation massage as it includes
focused therapeutic goals to regain the client's former function
(e.g., release muscle spasm or scar bands, strengthening or
stretching specific muscles, muscle fibers, tendons, and/or
ligaments, and remodeling fascia and/or release of scar tissue,
adhesions, contractures, and fixations) without pain.
·Full Time 32 – 44 hours per week M-F; Part Time MWF or TTh: 8-9
hours per day
