POSITION 1: TECHNICAL OFFICER  (JOB CODE: CHEN-TO-0109)

Locations: Chennai (1 position)
Travel:  Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Programs in the Chennai office facilitate district-level decentralization and enhanced access to HIV services through a package of training, mentorship, technical assistance, networking, advocacy and operational research support to institutional/ community/ home-based care providers, district program managers, community-based collectives, positive networks, and NGOs.

Position Summary:

The Technical Officer will be based at Chennai, with travel to Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. She/he will contribute primarily in building institutional capacity of DAPCUs and community-based organizations in such areas as TI/CST program management, policy development, monitoring, and evaluation; and researching and documenting good practices.

Qualifications, Experience and Skill set:

- Post graduate in social sciences/ natural sciences or its equivalent with a minimum of three years experience in HIV/AIDS or other public health domain.
- Familiarity with the strategies and key activity domains of NACP-III
- Experience in documentation, training, program implementation and coordination
- Experience in collaborating and networking across diverse constituencies
- Familiarity with software for word-processing, making slide presentations, spreadsheets and internet usage
- Strong oral communication skills in English and Hindi
- Solid English technical writing skills
- Writing fluency in Hindi highly desirable
- Strong work ethic, ability to plan and organize, self-starter, willing to travel
- Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills desirable

2. POSITION: ICT COORDINATOR (Job Code CHEN-ICT-0109)

Location: Chennai
Travel: restricted to Chennai. Occasional travel for meetings in Delhi and Bangalore may be required

Position Summary:

The ICT (Information Communication Technology) Coordinator will be responsible for developing webpages and modifying existing pages pertaining to HIV/AIDS. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and executing re-organization of the website
- Adapting training modules for online delivery
- Collating information submitted electronically ( e.g.. forms submitted through the website).
- Collection information regarding training programs and activities from other agencies, including other branches of SAATHII, to update the website.
- Documenting website changes and analyzing web-traffic for program evaluation purposes.
- Designing and implementing program-specific websites/pages based on content provided by other program staff. These include websites for partner organizations for whom SAATHII provides technical assistance.
- Compiling newsletters of media coverage on HIV/AIDS.

Qualifications, Experience and Skill set:

- Professional degree and/or appropriate diploma/certificate in relevant area.
- Proven track record of designing and maintaining websites.
- Experience with tools such as Dreamweaver and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Desirable: experience with implementing e-learning programs
- Interest in public health issues
- Desirable: experience with database-driven pages
- Excellent written, spoken and editing skills in English
- Attention to detail in both format and content.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
