Solidarity and Action Against the HIV Infection in India (SAATHII), a registered non-profit organization, was founded with a vision to stabilize and reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in India and ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS receive un-stigmatized, affordable and quality care, support and treatment. Headquartered in Chennai, it has branch offices at Kolkata and Hyderabad, and field offices at Karur, Tamilnadu, Bhadrak Bhubhaneshwar, Orissa and Jaipur, Rajasthan.

 

Position Summary:

SAATHII is seeking to fill the following vacancy for a UNDP/GOI supported Mainstreaming Resource Unit (MRU) that assists Rajasthan SACS, technical support units, and civil society organizations in mainstreaming HIV/AIDS with a focus on Ajmer, Alwar, Barmer, Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur districts.

Travel: Among focal districts in Rajasthan (requiring stay), with occasional trips to Chennai, Calcutta and Delhi as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post graduate in social sciences/public health/ development, or equivalent with a minimum of three years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and/or care, support and treatment

• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi/Marwari are critical.
• Experience in networking and advocacy with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of advocacy needs of PLHIV and members of marginalized and at-risk groups such as MSM, hijras, sexworkers and IDUs
• Experience with community and resource mobilization a plus
• Ability to work in a large and diverse team.
