Center for Counselling - Chennai is offering a series of 4-day workshops one
each month.

About the upcoming workshops

These workshops are designed for health care professionals like doctors, nurses,
counsellors who might like a review, as well as for students and anyone
considering
counselling as a full or part-time career.


Introduction to Counselling Approaches in Dealing with Children is from 23rd to
26th
February.

Topics will include:
Art therapy, Play therapy, Storytelling therapy, Developmental milestones of
children, and
Selecting effective approaches.

Introduction to Group Counselling is from 22nd to 23 rd March.

Topics will include:
Group work, Group dynamics, Stages of a Group, and Understanding Group
processes.

All of the workshops will feature participatory learning through small-group
discussions,
exercises, and activities, including role-playing of counselling situations.

Video recording and playback will be used for training purposes; and
videoconference
counselling and counselling training will be demonstrated.

The workshops will be led by Magdalene Jeyarathnam, Founder of the Center for
Counselling. She has done counselling training, and curriculum development, for
several
organisation including TANSACS (Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society), and the
Governments of Bhutan, Myanmar and Thailand.

Total number of participants per workshop is limited to 12 participants to
