Re: [SAATHII] 4th International Conference on Environmental Education - Call for papers

Dear Organizers,

This is great that 4th International conference on Environmental Education will be held in India and I hope there will be good Indian partcipation.

I have gone through the agenda and would like to suggest to add one session on Adolescents Sexual and Reproductive Health education which is so important in toadys era when more and more adolescents are infected with HIV/AIDS and many states in India have abnned this from the class room syllabus. I hope the organizers will take note of this issue and open the forum for discussion and proper advocacy.

Subject: [SAATHII] 4th International Conference on Environmental Education - Call for papers

4th International Conference on Environmental Education (ICEE)
Call for papers
Convergence on
Health Education for Sustainable Development
Concept

Year 2007 marks 30 years of completion of the 1st International Environmental Education (EE) Conference held at Tbilisi in October 1977.  Year 2007 is also the 3rd year of the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD), 2005-2014, and many of the countries across the world have launched the decade integrating DESD priorities and processes in their national context.
The 4th International Conference on Environmental Education co-sponsored by UNESCO and UNEP is being organized by the Government of India. Centre for Environment Education, Ahmedabad is the nodal agency for the Conference where Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) provides technical support for ESD on Health along with other partners Indian Institute of Management, Counterpart and CHETNA.
The 4th International Conference on Environmental Education being held at Ahmedabad from November 24-28, 2007 will be an ideal forum to look at EE - the foundation for ESD and bridge the gaps between these two, Health and Environmental Education - since this is vital to travel on the road to sustainability.
The Conference will also meet the urgent need to bring together the Governments of various nations as well as the innumerable non-governmental organizations that work on EE and ESD issues onto a common forum to reformulate EE programs with ESD-related considerations and in the context of the Decade.  Please visit   www.http://www.tbilisiplus30.org  for more details.
The Conference will bring together 1500 participants from all over the world including government officials, representatives of UN agencies, educators from the field of environment, health, water and sanitation, human rights, gender, peace, citizenship, social justice, civil societies/NGOs, corporate, academics and the media.
 Agenda for the Papers
