AIDS in Asia consultation: Win a trip to ICAAP
Frika Iskandar, Indonesia
*************************
**Consultation survey here: http://www.hdnet.org/asiacommission
Dear friends and colleagues in the Asia region,
Later this year the independent Commission on AIDS in Asia will
recommend a set of measures designed to mobilize leaders to
adequately respond to the epidemic in the region.
As part of her work as the civil society representative to the
Commission, Ms Frika Iskandar is organizing a rapid consultation about
HIV-related priorities in the region. The primary aim of the
consultation is to improve the quality of the Commission's
recommendations.
**You are invited to contribute to the consultation**
Sharing your input and opinions in this way allows civil society's
voice and perspectives to be more fully represented. Please take ten
minutes of your time to help Frika collect civil society voices from
around the region and input them into the Commission's
recommendations. The survey is available on-line at:
http://www.hdnet.org/asiacommission
Completing the survey before 10 July 2007 will also mean you may be
invited to an event organised by the Commission during the 8th ICAAP
conference, taking place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in August 2007. Two
invitations (including air fare and conference registration) will be
issued by the Commission based on responses to the final question in
the survey. The ICAAP event will be an opportunity for the invited
participants to put their points directly to the nine independent
Commission members.
Frika Iskandar is from Indonesia, and is known for her work as adviser
to the Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (APN+).
Some of you will recall the moving address she made at the opening of
the International AIDS Conference in Toronto last year.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to the consultation and
please pass on this announcement to friends and colleagues who also
have a valuable contribution to make. Feel free to contact me if you
have any questions regarding this consultation.
