Dear Friends,
I'm writing to you from VSO, a international charity working with volunteers to fight poverty and disadvantage worldwide. One of our goal areas is HIV and AIDs and we have programs running in Asia and Africa. Most of our programs work through partner organisations where VSO identifies needs in terms of human resources and then find quality volunteers for them. Almost all of our work is delivered through volunteers, volunteers work with partner organisations and build their capacities. Volunteers are recruited from recruitment bases in India, UK, Netherlands, Canada, Kenya and Phillipines. For more information about VSO, please visit www.vso.org.uk.
For our HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, we are looking to recruit volunteers from India ( Candidates who are not from India but have the necessary experience can also apply) . A post graduate qualification ( like Masters of Social Work) with more then 3 years of experience of working on HIV/AIDS is required for all volunteer positions. Experience of working with MSM ( Men Having Sex with Men) and Drug users communities is highly desirable. Most positions are based in Africa.
Support and Benefits
Selected volunteers will get a free return air ticket, free accommodation and a modest, but comfortable living allowance. But most valuable of all is chance to forge new friendships, discover hidden talents and gain a unique view HIV/AIDS work in Africa.. an experience you will never forget. You will be working with limited resources and need to garner the support of a wide range of stakeholders. So your higher order management skills will have every opportunity to grow. It is also an opportunity to bring the learnings from Africa in the area of HIV/AIDS to India.
For more information about how volunteers are supported during the assignment can be found at www.ivoindia.org .
