Description

SAATHII envisions a concerted response to the HIV infection in India. It aims to strengthen and expand HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment services through training and technical assistance, information dissemination, networking and advocacy.

Founded in February 2000, SAATHII has been registered, since 2002, as a charitable trust in India, headquartered in Chennai, with offices in Calcutta, Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Karur, Jaipur, Trichy, Imphal and Nagpur. SAATHII-USA, a 501(C)(3) non-profit, has offices in New York and the Bay Area. For more information on the organization and activities, visit http://www.saathii.org

SAATHII was founded to serve as a neutral platform for multi-sectoral dialogue among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), health care providers, policy makers, educators and volunteers.It was formally registered in India in August 2002. The SAATHII mailing list serves over 3000 members globally, including government and civil society organizations - PLHIV, doctors, nutritionists, public health professionals, basic scientists, social scientists, activists, social workers, lawyers, writers, artists, educators and volunteers working on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment projects in India.
