To strengthen and expand HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment services through training and technical assistance, information dissemination, networking and advocacy.

LEGAL STATUS
SAATHII is registered as a charitable trust headquartered in Chennai, India, and as SAATHII-USA, a 501(C)(3) non-profit in New York, USA. In India SAATHII has offices in Chennai, Calcutta and Hyderabad, with field offices in Bhubaneshwar (Orissa) and Karur (TamilNadu). SAATHII-USA has an office in New York and Bay Area. BIRTH
SAATHII was founded in February 2000 in response to numerous requests to create a neutral platform for multi-sectoral dialogue among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), health care providers, policy makers, educators and volunteers.It was formally registered in India in August 2002.

E-FORUM OBJECTIVES
Dissemination of current research advances in behavioral, basic science and clinical aspects of HIV/AIDS that are relevant to India and resource-limited settings on real time basis, and also to disseminate India specific new, HIV/AIDS-related national and international conferences, training and funding announcements and news items and letters that merit political action on a daily basis.

E-FORUM MEMBERSHIP
The SAATHII mailing list serves over 1800 members globally, including government and civil society organizations - PLWHA, doctors, nutritionists, public health professionals, basic scientists, social scientists, activists, social workers, lawyers, writers, artists, educators and volunteers working on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment projects in India.
