Hi! I'm a newbie too. I am so sorry to hear about what you have
gone through. I very much feel your pain. I am dealing with this
occupational disease since 10/2005. It started on my right elbow, I
was diagnosed w/ lateral epicondylitis. Then over time, my left
elbow hurt so bad and I was diagnosed w/ lateral epicondylitis. I
was receiving therapy for both. My right elbow pain has resolved in
2006. However, my left elbow has been in constant pain. I get
better, then it gets worse again. Now, my left arm swelled up, sharp
pains, discoloration on my whole arm, hands bluish color. I was
recently diagnosed by an orthopaedic surgeon w/ RSD. I saw a
neurologist and she said I might be developing eary signs of RSD.
She prescribed Nortryptiline to calm the nerves. My primary care
physician gave me samples of LEXAPRO. Nortryptyline helped. I can't
take any NSAID. My doctor said that I'm intolerant w/ NSAID. I am
also on a trial basis therapy. I do contrast baths am & pm. I also
do my nerve glide exercises. We have to keep doing what we think is
helping. I understand that it is not only the pain that we have to
go thru everyday, we have to deal w/ people who don't understand us.
Other than the pain, I have to deal w/ worker's comp and the thought
of loosing my job is a nightmare. I have days that I feel like I'm
loosing my mind. Suicidal thoughts are just around the corner. But
we have to be strong so we can help & educate others. Experience is
the best teacher. It is a very hard battle for all of us here. Take
care always. I hope you find the right remedy for you.
