Hi Emily. My name is Jamie and I can relate to your frustration. My boyfriend
and I have been together for 7 years and he's had RSD in his right arm for about
5 of those years. I just went through this similar frustration, but it will
pass. You feel like there's nothing you can do, but listening is the best thing
and understanding. The one thing you can't give up on is getting him out of the
house. Keep making suggestions even if it's just to the grocery store or to the
movies, eventually he will feel like he can do more. As their pain gets worse,
the more they just want to stay home. Just try not to seem to pushy, if he gets
argumentative, then back off. The last thing you need is to fight with each
other.
Please feel free to email me anytime.
Jamie

Hi, My name is Emily. My husband has RSD and I don't know what to
do anymore. We have been together for 14 years and married for only
1 1/2 years. He is in so much pain all the time. He doesn't feel
like much of a man anymore and I think I want too much out of him.
I try to push him to do stuff so that he just doesn't lay in bed all
day and wither away to nothing. I can't do anything for him and it
is as if we are no longer lovers....just two people that live in the
same house.
This is a workman's comp injury and we continually have problems
with the doctors and work comp and the lawyers and etc.... I am
just looking for someone to talk to that can maybe help me out.
Someone that has been through all of this and can give me some
advice on how to handle things.
I just don't know what to do anymore. HELP
