Hello There,
It was very nice to hear from you. I hope that you get better soon. I am
going to tell you my story.
It all started on June, 15th, 2002. I was getting out of my truck. I
drove a tractor and trailer. I had to go to the bathroom. I stopped at a rest
area in New Mexico. Getting out of my truck, when I stepped down, there was
no ground. I fell hard and fast. It seemed like slow motion to me. I remember
waking up with my head on the asphalt. I reached out to stop my self with my
arms. I remember crying out in pain. The next thing I remember was looking at
a tire in front of my head. Another truck must have pulled in after I fell.
Thank GOD they stopped when they did. I would not be here now.
I was sick at my stomah and started getting a severe headache. I started
throwing-up. My boyfriend was with me. (co-driver). He was in bed in the back
of the truck. He helped me into the truck. He called the company right away.
They told him to take me to the hospital in Albuquerque, NM. They took
x-rays. They said to go to the company DR.'s in Fontana, CA. So in the truck
we went to CA., on the way we had to drop off the load we were under. Then go
to the DR's in Fontana.
The DR's in Fontana told me to go to hotel room and get rest. We did. I
was in so much pain and the med's they gave me did not help. I went back and
forth to the DR's for 4 days there. Finally, they sent me on a plane to NC.
(Where I live). My daughter came to the airport to pick me up. I tried to
make a DR's appt., at home. It was one or two days later. I was constantly in
pain and crying and getting sick. The DR's never looked at it. (didn't even
unwrap it). They sent me to Physical Therapy for over a month. With me crying
and begging for them to cut my arm off. My left arm. Finally they sent me to
an arm specialist and bone. He did therapy and operated on my wrist. That
just made it worse. I have been in pain so much. I cry constantly and try to
hide it from everyone. I am still begging them to cut off my arm. I know that
it is not good to wish for but just some relief. I have had 5 blocks done
now. the first 3 worked good. The 4th did not work at all. It got worse. I
went back to get the 5th one and it helped me a lot. It does not take away
all the pain but it makes it livable. Sorry I know I talk to much. The idea
is to talk about it helps. And it does. I pray that things get better for
you. Hugs and Lots of Hope. Love, Mommom9toes
