I am curious where did your rsd start or better what's your story?
Mine started with a sprain to my (r) wrist. I worked at a center for
MRD and the area I worked on was total care. I haven't worked since
Nov. 2000. I have been through two carpal tunnel sur. and was dia.
with rsd after the first sur. when my wrist locked up. I now have
cervical stenois, degenerative disk and bone disease of the spine.
I started having spasms like someone was pulling my hair after the
first sur. and my ortho Dr. did not listen to me for almost a year
till my husband told him that he had to do something for me and he
finally sent me for a mri. I think it is all related to the rsd but
workers comp is fighting me and I can't get the Dr. to own up to it.
I started getting my dis. pension from the state which helps out but
is not the income that I had. I have opted not to take the blocks for
now. I think since I have had rsd this long I am not going to put
myself through more. Since I have read that they don't seem to help
that many people. If I would have known what was going on in the
beginning I would have insisted on them, but I was scared and didn't
know about rsd and I don't think my ortho knew that much about it.
When I got my Dr. notes I read that he wrote that I had early signs
of rsd and he would refer me to someone to do blocks, but he didn't
do that or even discuss that with me. He just kept sending me to
therapy and yelling at me to use my hand which I couln't and I think
it just migrated. If I was a vindicative person I would try to take
him to court for all the pain. Your friend in this rsd thing ELaine.
