Hi all...
I'm new here and really don't know what I'm dealing with.
I got a red sunburn type facial rash on my cheeks and chin. I don't know what
has caused it and I think it may be rosacea.
Im 62 and wondering if the furnace/heat can cause this? I called my rheumy and
he prescribed a medrol pack. The nurse never said what my rheumy thought it
could be. I have rheumatoid arthritis and take enbrel and prednisone.
Its mostly on the cheeks (not over the bridge of the nose). It really looked
like the lupus butterfly rash but, as I said, didnt cross the nose. I know that
rosacea and lupus can resemble each other.
I'm wondering if the furnace heat (I have a floor vent right next to my side of
the bed) can cause a rosacea (flare)? I tend to keep it warm in the house since
I'm always cold. Turned the heat down to 70.
My rash was red/pink, smooth, non itchy..I do notice broken blood vessels in a
few areas.
Thanks all..just wondering if this is caused by the furnace heat and if anyone
deals with this too?
It has almost gone away with the medrol pack. I've never dealt with this
before. I'd sometimes get a little scaly patch at the corner of my mouth but
that's all. I'm fair skinned also.
Thanks for any info....
