Brady-

Thanks for the help. I have been diagnosed with rosacea and nothing
else. The hives did not appear on me until I went on doxycycline, so I
assumed that this medicine was the cause. I have been off of it now for
a year, so I also assumed that it was "out of my system". So, when I
started to get hives yet again when attempting to treat my rosacea I
was stumped. Still, if it can potentially take YEARS to rid my system
of this antibiotic, then it may be possible that this med is still
causing me heartache when I try to treat the rosacea.

I don't really have dry flaky skin anywhere, so I don't think that I
have eczema.

I have never taken antibotics, but topical ones do that to me. ANY topicals cause me allergic reactions, the reactions being far worse than the slight rosacea...

Just as an aside, I had a similar reaction to a sulfa medication. I broke out in hives after the last dosage of the antibiotic. I know some topical creams...
