It was suggested that I compare the NRS Form 990 with the National Psoriasis
Foundation,
Inc. - www.psoriasis.org

So I did and here is the breakdown the year 2006:

Total Revenue $4,996,384
Total Expenses $4,300,530

Salaries: $1,639,932

One officer listed that reports a salary: $137,769

Research: $119,360

Public Education: $1,019,137
Program Expenses for Research: $539,091
Patient Services: $540,789
Community Services: $542,118
Other Program Services: $308,017
Total Program: $2,949,152

5 Highest Paid Independent Contractors for Professional services:
There were 3 for consulting and the total: $255,826

5 Highest Paid Independent Contractors for Other Services
1 for suvery panels which totaled: $100,000

What this means is the NPF spends only 2% of its revenue on psoriasis research.
That
means for every dollar donated to the NPF 2 cents is spent on research. So when
you
compare the NRS to the NPF the NRS is way ahead with money spent on research.
The NRS
spends 10% of its donations on research. At least I am beginning to understand
from this
investigation where these two non profit organizations spend their donations.
