Kelly,
I am 37 year old guy and I have had rosacea for 2 years. At first, I was a
complete recluse who had slipped into depression. Prior to rosacea I was a
confident, outgoing attorney; then, I lost the ability to speak in public. I
tried so many prescribed and non-prescribed treatments looking for some
relief; howeverd, I initially had little luck. But, I did not stop trying and
I
eventually found things that gave me relief. The relief being about 50%
dissipation of redness, 80% dissipation in burning, stinging, and itching.
Here
is what I have done, and will continue to do:
1) I had four IPL laser treatments, which were done by a dermatologist who
has a lot of experience with the disease and IPL. This drastically reduced
redness and swelling in my nose.
2) I use "z-cream" every night before bed. It causes dryness at first, but
after four months this is diminishing.
3) Everyday I use Linda Sy ZincO cream SPF 20. Kelly, this is a godsend!
Linda Sy is a derm in California who formulated this product for people with
rosacea. It is tinted brown and does an adequate job of aiding in the
blending of skin tone. In addition, it had done an excellent job at protecting
me
from flare-ups from the sun and wind.
Do a google search for z-cream and Linda Sy.
Advice:
1) Try these products and procedurs. Give them a little time, e.g., three
months with the Z-cream.
2) Don't stop exercising, which is a great reliever of stress.
3) Don't give up! I think that one day dermatologists and the medical
field will take this disease as seriously as they should and devote more time
and
money to research.
Good luck,
Doug
