Hiya & welcome,
I had a similar list of conditions that all seemed to need contradicting
treatments.... I was diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder which needs as
much sunlight as possible, as does my psoriosis!!!!!! Rosacea hates the
sun!!!!!!! Once I got over the shock of it all the main things that have really
changed my life to date are a massive increase in my water intake ( I rarely
drink anything else), cutting all caffeine & hot drinks, citrus fruits,
chocolate & now I'm detoxing from sugars. I also have to limit dairy & avoid
white breads etc as much as possible. I have had to up my protein intake alot &
have changed from a mainly vegetarian diet. It has all been worth the detox etc,
I no-longer have IBS, next to no flushing (unless I eat spicy foods), I have
been able to stop my antibiotics & am managing my Rosacea with aloevera gel,
jojoba oil & Cetaphil sensitive skin cleansing bar. I was also 4 stones over
weight (Im English, sorry have no idea what that is in kgs) &
have lost almost 2 stones in 4 months. Seriously think most of my ailments were
to do with my sugar sensitivity/addiction. www.radiantrecovery.com has a great 7
step recovery programme for sugar addicts, has helped me amazingly. I'm aiming
to be on the Rosacea diet as a lifestyle chopice as soon as I beat my sugar
blues!!!!
Wishing you all the very best xxxxxxxxJane

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here. Jayne McHugh from Ontario, Canada, married for almost 25 years
and have three adult children.
I was just diagnosed with Rosacea today and I'm having one of the worst episodes
of flushing ever. My face has been burning for 13 hours and nothing seems to
help.
My doctor gave me Metrolotion to use, along with a package in regards to the
skin regime and a list of tripwires to avoid.
After reading up on Rosacea I must admit that I can see my biggest obstacle will
be with the diet. I also have arthritis, fibromyalgia, IBS and have been a
migraine sufferer since my teenage years so trying to work out a diet that will
not hinder any of these ailments is driving me crazy.
I have already ruled out chocolate, citrus fruits, cheese and bananas because of
my migraines and with the IBS dairy products are a problem although I have
learned to monitor my intake and haven't eliminated dairy completely from my
diet but on how on earth can I accomodate all these diet changes without sending
myself loopy in the process?
Maybe this is a good thing because I'm overweight and badly need to lose it so
if I just eliminate all known triggers for Rosacea, migraines and IBS I should
be as skinny as toothpick by the end of this month. <BG>
I'm looking forward to receiving mail from the group and hopefully to get some
relief from this disease.
Take care
Jayne
