Your case sounds very similar to mine what with an
ophthalmologist diagnosing my roseacea - I had already
seen 2 optometrists and 2 other ophthalmologists for
constant contact lens irritation and dry eyes.

This 3rd opth walks in and asks me "just how Irish are
you?"  And that's all it took - he referred me to a
derm who pushed metrocream at me and said have a nice
day.  A second derm changed me to metrogel (I didn't
need the moisture of the cream) and also tried 3
different antibiotics over a course of a few months
but I had reactions to all of them even though the
minocycline was significantly reducing the oiliness.
I saw little improvement with the metrogel.

I took the dive to try the z-cream and the acarid
soap.  My face got worse the first week and then there
was steady improvement over the next few months - less
redness, less oil, and the tiny broken capillaries got
smaller and definitely less noticeable.  A 4th opth
cauterized my lower tear ducts and that has helped
with the dry eyes.
