Here's one non-c treatment I always like: cold plain yogurt on face.
The consistency makes it stay on your face for about 20 minutes,
continually cooling, and milk products have historically been used
as skin treatment (supposedly Cleopatra enjoyed milk baths).
Yogurt also has some anti-fungal properties. It works well on
flushes for me, although I haven't had any flushing in a while. But
winter is here and I like to ski, so I'm sure I'll be using it again soon
if not just for wind burn.
