I spent $1800 and had six IPL treatments, while it did improve texture of my
skin and did fade SOME of the acne red marks and melasma it did not ERASE
anything completely - those marks are all still there and still need to be covered
up with make-up -- and it is very painful. They tend to increase the
"voltage" with each visit as you begin to tolerate it. It's like getting electrocuted
in minute areas. Each spot they're treating gets ZAPPED once or twice a
session and my worse areas, on my forehead really hurt because there's not much
density to the skin up there, it goes right to the bone. I wouldn't recommend it
for the price. If you can find it significantly cheaper than that, go ahead,
but it does nothing for veins or redness and doesn't prevent new acne either!
Also, my aesthetician literally burned me in a spot (which is entirely possible)
so now I have a NEW scar that isn't even from acne - it's from IPL and that
was my last session so it really ticked me off that she got that aggressive. I
don't think I was one of her success stories. I'm not planning to go back.
