I am currently suffering from a really bad case of steroid induced
rosacea. I've never had anything like this before and I am wondering
if this will ever clear up. I've been on minocycline and metrogel
for about 4 weeks and it has gotten a lot better, but I am still
worried if the redness will ever go away. At first it was really
swollen and blotchy and now it is just red. I've always had some
eczema on my body and I guess I have some seborrheic dermatitis on my
face as well, which originally caused me to put topical steroids on
my face. So if anyone has any advice on how long it will take to
clear up if it does and anything else I can do to help I would
greatly appreciate it.
do u know something about steroid rosacea, i have suffered rosacea for
several years but it goes so quite flushings not shown in some patient
photos. My doc gave me steroid creams to prevent flushing, redness and
pimples addition for years ago and advised me about using it harmless ,
but in fact it caused rosacea thin skin and sensitive blood vessels,
nowadays knowledge can warm us to use long term steroid creams. And due
to my dermotologist we have to learn to live together with this fact.
But i read an article of a survey which tells rosacea can be treated
but can not be cured, under this statement told an other topic about
steroid rosacea'' it can be cured'' and steroid rosacea is occur due to
long term usega of steroids. I would like to ask if any one knows
anything about this kind of rosacea
I first notice that something was wrong with my skin
in 2003. Had had red blotchy skin that would not go
away, I went to the dermatologist, and he prescribed
Desowin (a steroid). I worked initially for about 1
month, then all of a sudden I was having large
breakouts of papules. It has been nearly 4 years, and
I am still struggling with the papules. I really do
not get the red blotchy skin or flushing, just the
papules which I truley believe was caused by the
steroid. So I do not believe steroid induced rosacea
is cureable. I often wonder what my symptoms today
would be if I was never prescribed the steroid.

when i gave up steroids 8 months ago after a long term of usage, my face, under
control of steroids was cool and better but i realised my skin had been getting
so sensitive under sun shower. and i suffered 4 months to ged rid of the redness
and flshing, i apply trilogy combination and it worked and still works for my
face now i can look at the mirror and love my face i also have limited pimples
little pimples but redness has gone away and my skin is oily now. I apply
antiredness cream at first in the morning and int the evening
and after apply a 45 no sun bath cream and then use a pimple cream on it, But
i believe every treatment varies from skin to skin. I wish not to deal so much
with my face.:)
