A member on another board recommended this product, so I thought "what
the hell" and bought it. I absolutely love this product. My skin hasn't
looked this good in so, so long, and it even let me eat and drink some
trigger foods during the holidays with no consequences (I'm not going to
push my luck, though). They did warn it might cause your rosacea to
flare up at first, but thankfully, mine didn't; it just got better and
better and better. This product at night (with a good, thick moisturizer
over it), my usual SkinActives Anti-Inflammatory cream in the a.m., the
clear Smashbox primer under my Lancome Concealer.....I'm so happy now!
And (kinda icky), it does contain emu oil, but it works. The oil is a
by-product of the animals being....um....processed for their meat, so
they're not being killed just for that. And I eat meat, so I can't be
all high-and-mighty about it, right?
Here are the ingredients: Dromaius (emu) Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Jojoba
Oil, Sulfur, Zinc Oxide, Tea Tree Oil, White Willow Bark Extract,
Arnica, Camomile, Marigold, Burdock, Aloe Vera, Camphor, Eucalyptus,
Vitamin E, Green Tea
[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
unfortunately it contains Tea Tree Oil, a well known hormonal mutagen
that can wreak absolute havoc on women's and men's bodies - both in
early and later stages of life, so perhaps your initial thought of
"what the hell" may have been more appropriate than at first presumed.
there are many alternatives to Tea Tree Oil products, perhaps one day
you might try them.

Jasper - Jasper - Jasper. For someone who openly stated that he is fearful
of being "attacked" on the board - don't you feel this response was just a
little harsh. I know you have extremely strong feelings about the use of
tea tree oil but - - a little more compassion here?

many thanks Woody, my post was ignorant and unfeeling on a variety of
levels.
you certainly have done me a service in mentioning this, and indeed i
will strive for an equable tone, always, in posts.

Well! That response was quite unexpected, not to mention uncalled for.
The cream worked for me, might work for others, might not work for
others. It's up to all of us to make our own decisions, and to try and
share with others afflicted with rosacea our findings and
experimentations in hope that we can also help them. And if we disagree
on something, or know or think something is dangerous, by all means
share, but nicely, for goodness sake! We're all here for the same
reason!
And with that I'm signing off for tonight! Hopefully by the time I'm
ready to share something again, this lovely feeling I'm left with after
reading all this will be gone.
And to think.....I saw the name "Jasper" and thought "ooooh...."Jasper"
like in Twilight. How very cool." =)

dear Cathy, please forgive my impersonal and rude tone. reading the
seemigly dismissive, quick and seemingly unfeeling message i wrote, i
am quite amazed at how unfriendly it seems. quite uncalled for -
indeed, the opposite was called for.
i shall not post any more about tea tree oil, nor about any danger, in
fact. it really is too much of a loaded topic. or should that be
topical .. ah well, too late for attempts at humour now.
farewell and all the best,
i will go and do some further study, and perhaps write a book one day,
and let the critics have their field day with my theories, rather
than me trying to publish a series of opinions as messages to the
board. that would be much more appropriate, and perhaps more helpful too.
regards
jasper

Hi Jasper.
Oh, please don't go. I've just come back from holiday and thought wow
what a lively debate.
It's good to have opinions and that's what creates the debate. As long
as we are all polite and sensible about it. Well geeh why not? I'm
french and we (the french and my family included) have I beleive
nothing but debates. We might all in the end stick to our guns but
it's always a good thing to hear what others have to say.
I'm not sure about TTO being bad and I am not a user of this product
but I appreciate the knowledge you have given me in this particular
field. Even more so that the body shop who have strong ethics on
cosmetics seem to have a whole range using it... something to
definitely follow.
I think it's a shame that we should 'fight' over issues that are meant
to be helpful and with good intent and the fact that you apologised
for your tone of voice shows this.
Emails can a lot of times appear very abrupt and dry and do not always
truly carry the real intent of the writer.
So lets all please stick together to keep informing each other in as
friendly a manner as we can manage.
BTW Happy New Year to all my fellow rosaceans!
Lisa M.

hi Lisa,
i will keep my membership, however will go and research more, to calm
my ideas and approach.
although i have achieved clearance of rosacea/oc.ros. without laser,
oral anti-biotics or tto, i am almost too scared to celebrate and
smile. .
after 16 years of rosacea-torture, i am not used to this.
and neither are the arrogant fellows in my local towns who used to
find such comfort in making their stigmatic comments about me.
and so, when my ideas are seemingly ignored, i get upset like a little
child.
this is not okay, i just need to grow up some more, and get over the
need for validation. like my grlfriend said to me - "take a deep
breath. good. now.. take a few more."
there are things in common like breathing, and yet there exists a
mosaic web of beautiful paradoxical facets through the looking glass too.
all of us are so different.and that is a beautiful thing. :-)
rosacea seems to demand that each individual find a seemingly magic
and hidden path that only will reveal itself to that specific soul.
when i am able to freely share information without concern for
people's reactions, and without responding to any negative or
dismissive reactions, i look forward to saying hi to the group then.
for (imho) that is the best way - to share valuable information, and
not expect anything in return ... surely, the most valuable
information to one person is an inappropriate suggestion for at least
a few others.
such a riddle, a puzzle .. why is it so .. i have no answer, and am
comfortable with that. only just. :-)
best regards,
Jasper

I have been away for some time and so haven't been checking my mails.
Would you share with us your success with rosacea? I know one person success is
no guarantee as rosacea reacts differently for everyone but it still can help
some people.
I will be very grateful.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I'm sure we've all done the same---sent something via
e-mail, and later, think "Wow. That's not how I sounded in my head at
all." Or, honestly, you're just upset and then it's too late. I have
to sometimes be careful with my words, especially in e-mail when there's
not an expression/tone of voice to go along with the words, or be
careful not to type and send in haste, repent in leisure.
I agree with Lisa and others: don't go! There's no reason why you
shouldn't post about tea tree oil---or about anything you want to talk
about at all! That's what the group is for, and what we're all here
for: to share what we know, think, learn....I like tea tree (in Purple
Emu), you don't; Jane likes red light therapy, Joe doesn't. The point
is, it might work for someone out there, so we should share.
And like I said, who can't forgive a "Jasper". =) Yes, it's a Twilight
thing.
