I was reading through the Alternative Medicine magazine I subscribe
to and found an article on page 39 called, Get the red out: Rosacea

This article refers to NRS and Ashley Scroggins, an aesthetician with
Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy in Boulder, Colorado. The article has
the following sections:

Avoidance
Skincare
Diet
Supplements

Ashley recommends skincare products with rose in them and these
brands:

Sanitas Rosacea Serum
Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner (I would never try
a toner on my face)
Jurlique's Ritual Kit for sensitive skin
Zia's Brilliance line

For diet it says to stay away from spicy foods and alcohol. Dr.
Perricone suggests taking a minimum of 100 mg a day of alphalipoic
acid and 60 mg a day of coenzyme Q10 to reduce rosacea-related
inflamation.

According to a recent International Journal of Dermatology study -
rosacea sufferers taking 100 mg of zinc sulfate capsules three tiems
a day can significantly reduce symptoms.

Dr. Andrew Weil says to eat fresh fruits, vegetables, cold-water fish
and to stay away from starches and sugar.

Article is one page long. I personally considered taking Coenzyme
Q10 but noticed it is very expensive. Anyone here take it?

I went to Dermatologist on Monday and it turns out I have steroid
induced rosacea and now using Elidel on my face - which is a cream I
have used for my eczema and like, although my insurance only covers
one tube every 45 days, so will have to pay for next refill instead
of having insurance dictate when I can get my creams.

I am now taking Minocycline 100 mg twice a day for one month (before
was the Doxycline twice for three weeks). This is not so bad on the
stomach but I do get that uneasiness and dizziness from it.

I personally did not think the Beverly Hills Dr. (Boris Zaks) was
that great. He never sat down and kept leaving the room, although I
did get a box of nutrogena moisturizer samples. I thought it odd
that any Dr would not say anything in response to a patient saying
they have a lot of stress as a single parent to two kids with autism -
he said nothing at all. I plan to review him on insiderpages.com
and yellowpages.com since all the others gave him five stars.

Here is the website to the magazine -
