Hi John,
Thanks for posting the update. Loved your comment:
> Red is the new pale and you rosaceans are looking good out there. <
Brilliant! We're already looking forward to your next such gem. :)
> Does this mean I'll be on ZZ maintenance for life? <
No idea, but anti-mite treatments have to be used consistently over a long
period to eliminate the mites completely. A lot of rosaceans give up too early,
as I foolishly did with ivermectin: brilliant initial results, but not the
immediate clearance expected, so I gave up as soon as they came back.
> Has anyone else found a decent substitute for demodex mite treatment? <
There are plenty of Demodex-killers out there, so it's a matter of finding
either the one that best suits you, or alternating between several. (Said only
because some rosaceans reckon that they do better by switching every so often.)
My current regime is a belt-and-braces approach: on a daily basis, using a
little Noxadem serum (a very gentle cream that causes me no irritation or
dryness - but your mileage may differ) and once every couple of weeks taking a
little ivermectin (which has also never caused me any side effects).

convinced at the time. <
We probably need a double-pronged attack to remove mites from the skin, but then
also from the bedding, eg washing sheets, etc., in very hot water, or putting
your pillow in the freezer for a day or two. (I say "your pillow" because our
freezer is too full of food to have room for pillows. ;)
Hope that gives you a few ideas.
Kind regards,
Aurelia
