Re: [rosacea] Oil of Oregano -- It is time to start testing this product for rosacea

I have tried Oil of Oregano topical about 6 months ago. It didnt' do a thing in
my case, nor did it have a ' bite' . I purchased it at the Naturopath that I go
to.

I have been following Oil of Oregano for over two years now as a
treatment for rosacea. I have been highly skeptical. A few
anecdotal reports and one or two naturopaths do not make this
information more credible, but intriguing.

I have recently followed 6 rosacea sufferers who I have known for
many years. They have tried every treatment under the sun with
minimal success. Two of them had moderate rhinopyma, and the other
four had vascular rosacea with papules and pustules. They decided
to try the oil of oregano. Within 30 days, the new photos they sent
me (undoctored and without makeup) where jaw dropping. Both
rhinopyma sufferers had nearly pale noses with swelling decreased by
over 50% and the other four showed excellent clearance of vascular
and papulopustular symptoms. It was not a cure, but it really
improved symptoms in patients who have been unresponsive to every
known treatment.

Oregano oil has been tested against a variety of microorganisms
[infections] and is found to exert a high degree of anti-fungal,
anti-parasitic, anti-viral and antibacterial actions. Oregano is
such a potent anti fungal agent that it is capable of destroying
even resistant fungal forms, such as the mutated fungi which result
from antibiotic therapy. Oil of Oregano also has strong anti-
inflammatory actions against neutrophils which wreak havoc against
rosacea sufferers (both vascular and papulopustular form). The
herbal PDR also encourages patients to try this product – both oral
and topical. The only drawback is a strong bite to the oil.

Regards,

Geoffrey
