Hello Group,
Sorry I'm a little late on this post, as if any of you were expecting it
anyways, but
I should have updated on Friday which was the end of my 11th week taking
Accutane
20 mg. every other day. This week was probably the best I've had since I was
diagnosed with rosacea about 7 months ago. The background redness has faded so
much it's hardly noticable anymore, and I didn't have a bad flush all week.
Also, I'm
seeing the acne pimples become fewer and a lot less irritating. I don't know
how
much longer I'll be taking accutane, but hopefully the derm will know about the
benefits of a higher cumulative dose for avoiding relapses in the acne.
Anyways, all
I have to say is thanks to everyone who has given me support and advice. A few
weeks ago I was in tears because I thought nothing was going to change, but it
has
and I thank all of you who've given me hope.
I would like to add that if any of you are thinking about trying to get a
prescription
for low dose accutane, make sure you research and make an informed decision.
It
is a drug that is not to be taken lightly, and can even have bad effects. I
know a lot
of people have said accutane was a godsend for their rosacea, but others,
including
someone who goes by the group name "mermaid" - a person for whom I have a lot of
respect because of her knowlege and willingness to help others- have had bad
experiences with accutane. So make sure you look over the old messages and find
out if you think it might be worth a try.
Take it easy everyone and, as always, I would love any feedback,
questions,
advice, WHATEVER.
