Sebderm is basically a fungal infection that causes redness and
flaking on your skin typically in the t-zone, and very often your
skin can be very oily with it. Those of us with sebderm are very
susceptible to certain triggers, so once you understand what yours
are, you can at least avoid them to minimise your condition. There
are various treatments too - what did you say your derm prescribed?
It's entirely possibly that you don't have rosacea, because sebderm
in itself CAN cause significant redness all over your face. However,
I don't believe this condition either causes or contributes
to 'flushing episodes' - that's a completely separate issue, and I'm
surprised that your Dermatologist also didn't think so? I think it
can sometimes be difficult to diagnose (let alone treat!) because
sebderm can often be present IN ADDITION to rosacea - and that's
something that I didn't know until I joined this Yahoo group,
previously I was very confused about what was going on with my skin.
If I were you, I'd do some preliminary research/reading on sebderm,
because it does sound like you may have it with some of the symptoms
you describe i.e. crustiness in eyesbrows/scalp.
Hope this helps.

a terrible headache. This has been the fourth derm I have visited so
far who did not diagnosed me as rosacea. I am really tired of this.
I have all the symptoms being told in Dr. Nase's book or being
discussed here in the group.

I had rosacea. She asked me why I thought so. I said that I had all
the symptoms of rosacea. She looked at my face carefully and she
said I dont have rosacea but something called 'Sebore' in Turkish. I
looked at internet and I think it means 'Seborrhe'.

triggers. My skin is sensitive. I have the burning sensation. I have
blepharitis which is considered to be ocular rosacea. Redness used
to be less brighter in the past and it progressed over the course of
3 years. Also my skin is much better if I avoid triggers... drinking
cold water, ice chips, avoiding stres and sun helps me a lot. My
skin is sensitive and I use RosaceaCare cleanser which works wonders
for me. I am not different from a rosacean.

hair deeps as well as my forehead. I think that is why she thought I
have seborrha and told me: 'You have misdiagnosed yourself as
rosacea'. She also added that I have mixed skin, some of which is
oily and some dry. She said treatment should be focused on balancing
the oil in my skin and protecting it from sun by a water-based
sunscreen.

me unfortunately that this condition CAN NOT BE TREATED but can be
kept under control another thing she pointed was, UNLIKE ROSACEA ,
IPL WOULD BE OF NO USE. When I heard those, I went very bright red
and I felt my eyes burn.

The other 3 said something different. They said I only have vascular
dilation, but that doesnt mean rosacea. She prescribed me a lotion
and something else. My mum told me that she also had redness in her
face when she was at my ages but she is not red now. The derm also
said it is a genetic condition. Has anyone experienced a similar
condition. What do you guys think? Should I eventually be convinced
that I dont have rosacea or what do I have to do? I just have what
you guys have, rednessi blushing, flushing, sebum..... I think I am
in deeper trouble this time, right? since IPL is of no help.
