Because my health plan's deductible resets at the beginning of the
year, my cost was only a little less -- $50 or so. It's time to give
the free market a nudge. Metronidizole has been off-patent for
years, but nobody else is challenging Galderma for the rapdily
growing rosacea market, which is why they can charge $75 for a
month's supply. Surely there must be companies out there that would
be happy to start making a Metrogel/lotion/cream generic for a mere
$40 a tube. Or $5, which is still probably more than it costs to
make. Medical pros, got any ideas? What companies are known for
generics, esp. generic topicals, that we might contact? Jay
Hello Jay,
I think Greatskin.com has metronidazole based creams and lotions now
for sale (or it could be one of those other big skincare product
sites).
Regards,
Geoffrey
