Ivermectin manipulated cream   Message List

'morning everybody,

it seems ivermectin was already known for its beneficial effects on
demodex-worsened-rosacea. This is an info I got from the Brazilian
rosacea-support group (as I said yesterday, ivermectin for human adult
and pediatric use is made in Brazil under the name Revectina).

As I inquired about Revectina, this Brazilian member of the forum tells
me he had read something on that already - a note (on ivermectin for
rosacea treatment) which was on an online newspaper and referred the
American Academy of Dermatology - not a note from the Academy itself.

Then he quotes some relevant parts of the article, as follows (my
translation):

.> -----------------------------------------------------
> "Alternative against rosacea
> The commonest type of acne in adults may be treated with an
anti-parasite ointment.
A cream based on ivermectin is the newest option for treatment of acne
rosacea. The anti-parasite substance was presented as an alternative
for the treatment of the problem by the Anerican Academy of
Dermatology. The substance was already being used against lice and
scabies, and now a study proved its efficiency in tne combat to acne
rosacea.
...

> Product needs to be manipulated at pharmacies

The ivermectin-based cream can only be obtained through some
manipulating pharmacies. In the United States, the product is already
to be found on drugstore shelves.
>
> Drummond says the ivermectin-based medication not only fights the
disease, but is also showing a more prolonged effect than other types
of treatments.

> “We notice that with ivermectine use, patients can stay free from the
lesions for longer", he reported.
