Hi all!
I just wanted to report that I'm having fastastic luck with Brady
Barrows "Rosacea Diet." I gave a half attempt at it a few months ago
and noticed improvement, but at the time I really didn't want to go
full tilt because I am a lover of potato chips and chocolates and all
things bad for me. However, I recently became completely disgusted
with my face and decided that I had to take a real stab at the diet.
I went out and bought all the vitamins Brady suggests...spent about
90 dollars on supplements that will last me over 3 months. I then
scavenged the grocery store for sugar-free stuff and came up pretty
much empty handed. So I'm living on water, vitamins, sugar free
bacon and sausage, steak, chicken, eggs, green veggies, cheese, nuts,
mushrooms, etc. I still have enough energy to work out daily, but
I'm not going all out because my energy levels are not what they were
when I was living on tons of carbs.
This diet is one of the hardest things I have ever done...it's day
four for me and my body is still struggling to adjust to low carbs
and no sugar. BUT my skin is looking more clear and beautiful than
it has in some time. The texture is SO smooth, the papules and
pustules that I had are healing and no new ones are popping up. My
cheeks are faintly pink and that's it, as opposed to the full on mask
of bright pink splotches that I had just a few days ago. I don't
know how or IF I'll make it through the holiday season to complete
the full recommened 30 days, but I'm certainly going to give it my
all. On a side note, my little buddah belly is shrinking and
evidently so am I because my pants are loose today.
I now fully believe that there is non-prescription treatment for
rosacea. It's nothing short of a complete diet overhaul--taking
loads of vitamins, eating ABSOLUTELY NO SUGAR (or SUGAR ALCOHOL or
sugar substitutes) and extremely low levels of carbs. If you haven't
read the book and done EXACTLY what Brady suggests, you haven't even
begun to try the diet...low carb is only a small portion of the
overall picutre.
Good luck to all of you,
Sarah
